After studying the chemistry giant BASF, we at Diamond Modeling Agencies found that they helped the Mariners and Safeco Field replace almost every disposable concession item in the stadium with compostable or recyclable substitutes. It has made a huge impact. In 2--6, the Seattle Mariners trucked roughly 88% of the stadium waste from Safeco Field directly to a landfill. By the 2012 season, the organization had virtually flipped the model, diverting 85% of it's waste away from the landfill. The stadium no longer even offers trash cans to it's fans. It's new two-bin system gives them limited options: compost or recycle.
