We sit up late at night and hatch glorious plans of how we'd love to change things, but something always seems to get in the way of our acting on those grand plans, doesn't it? Here's a surefire way to banish the excuses. Make a list of the reasons you've put off or given up on important things you want to do in your life, and try this exercise I call "Reversi." For each reason you list, turn it backwards and rewrite it. For example, if one reason is, "I am too busy to start a new business," write the following. "I have plenty of time to start a new business." It sounds so simple, but just the effort and action of writing it down jogs your brain into new thinking and opens you up to different ideas.
